Down These Halls

down these long marble halls
is the dispensation of fear
here things don't run on schedule
as they were designed to do
Everything was planned out
written down and proposed
in fact, these halls seem as though they've been vacant for years
can you help me
to understand
just what it is were seeing and where its coming from
cause when you run to see,
all outlets are obfuscating, they're taking words and debating meanings
and when you try to read
fear is the only emotion, misinformation is the key
it should be clear to see, they're nature is on display
down these crumbling roads the
hopes have suffered foe years
Dreams don't hold their value
like they were intended to
they knock them down, cut off and drive families out
and now it seems these
roads have been abandoned for many years
We need to redirect our aim
Our judgement has been clouded fear and
Unification for us
Balance will keep our soul

Neon Lights
04:01

A couple more hours and I've got to be packed to go
The Hardest damn part of the day is to say goodbye
I didn't even know my world had been destroyed
Until I kissed you, grabbed my things, and sauntered by
And the skies change color before my eyes
anxiety is running high
rolling hills through the spanish peaks
a swirling western wind sings us both to sleep
Come on baby let me know just where you are tonight
Its been over two weeks and I'm going out my mind
Woke up late to stay up all night
It was the only way to make it back to you on time
crossed the Georgia border and my worries went away
it shouldn't be much more than another day
around Gatlinburg things got real cold
the back of the hill snow started to fall
everything was closed all roads were dead
i found a small motel at the end of the bend
Come on baby let me know just where you are tonight
Its been over two weeks and I'm going out of my mind
the empty space
was no longer space, the infinite void was no longer void
the neon lights keep glowing
all through the night
blankets draped on me
couldn't hold out cold, couldn't hold out light
neon lights kept glowing
all though the night all night
and on the radio only white noise
got out in Illinois and the water began to freeze
crossed the river bridge so close to home
around the 120 attention began to fade
get it up to 88 and well get away
down past the winding terraces
and out of the dream
right by the local market and the bungalows
They're all asleep
Come on baby let me know just where you are tonight
Its been over two weeks and I'm going out of my mind

The Battery

The Battery Will Protect Us All
into a town that never rises up
the narrow passages
that spread out everywhere
tight turns and massive columns
between the boroughs and the learned
a welcoming bell rings from
all directions they're misdirected
and thirty strong
everything is illuminated by oil
tucked away in a marsh and held in by walls
the trodden brick screams about the past
the battery will protect us all
you can see exactly where the water
opens up, and just how
the reds made their way in
imagine looking out
to send people screaming
pull up defense and attempt
to disperse, the fleet is everywhere
everywhere and pushing down
everything is illuminated by oil
a powder keg fills the air with steel and black smoke
panic causes everything to come undone.
the battery will protect us all
walkways turn into mazes and mazes double as gardens here
everything is illuminated by oil
tucked away in a marsh and held in by walls
and in the night everything will remain
the battery will protect us all

You did the best that you could despite all that you had to bear
And I know you strived
To make our lives better than yours
Yeah I know you tried
Pouring everything we had into holland and watching it slip away
The long days and long hours spent spent
The plot at the end of the square and the tree that sprawled out overhead
to look back they were some of the best moments that we shared
not long after my tenth the family changed
We didn't understand just why things changed,
i remember the trail past the arboretum
Things became intense
at no fault of our own
Just like the old victorian, we spent long hours alone
Now I understand the drives I understand
exactly where the psychosis came from
and the triggers that ladened the eighties
the ones that let you down and the undue stress caused by those who lie
even with the disappointments you never stopped for us all
You did the best that you could despite all that you had to bear
And I know you strived, To make our lives better than yours
now you are safe, now you are secure
now you are safe, now you are exactly where you hoped you'd be
